Dear Friends,

For most visitors to Matapalo Beach , including the current residents and business owners, the experience has gone something like this:

First day, arriving down that dirt road:   "Where the hell are we?", "I need a stiff drink", "I think we made a big mistake."

Second day, checking out the natural beauty of the mountains, beach and surroundings of which Matapalo is a part:    "Wow, this is really an incredibly overwhelming place.”

By the weeks end, sad that they must return to "civilization":  "Charlie, do you know of any properties still available in the area?"  "How does it all work with the laws and such?"

If your experience is like most, your reaction maybe the same, and depending on your own personal lifestyle and commitments back home, you may be a perfect candidate for a lifestyle makeover. 

I have had the privilege of living nearly 15 years in Matapalo Beach.   When I arrived, there was a very small community of local Costa Rican farmers, a French Canadian named Michel, and myself.  Through those years I have been blessed with the opportunity to meet some truly remarkable people in such a pristine, peaceful setting.  On special occasion, I was able to hand pick my neighbors who are now my lifelong friends. Curiously their journeys all began at Jungle house.
